Retraction Statement From CFUtd

This is an official retraction from the employees at Cricket Fans United. It has been brought to our attention that our writers have made some mistakes in previous articles which we would like to apologise for.
.
Firstly to the Australian Cricket Team. We apologise for not giving you a sniff. There isn’t a parallel universe in which we thought you could have pulled off such a victory, and for that we are sorry.
.
Secondly to Steven O’keefe we still don’t understand how you get wickets in Sheffield Shield, but there is an apology in here for you too. Like the Indian batsmen, we underrated you. You showed excellent slight of hand and used the natural variation of the wicket to perfection. You deserve 75% of the following paychecks
.
To Steve Smith. No apology here, always been a fan. We will put in writing though, that it’s a hard pill to swallow calling that century your finest ever. Mate, you were out four times and while we are here, get rid of the head band. Your hair cut is about three steps up from the clippers. You lose all the respect you gained by scoring by hundreds the moment you take your helmet off… Disgraceful.
.
To the English Cricket Team. Thank you for boosting the Indians egos to such levels that they felt they only had to turn up and win. They have seemed to have forgotten that outside of the Sri Lanka series, all their success is at home. So to see them fall so hard, I’m sure was pleasing to us all. I hope you can put the ashes aside for a moment and take some enjoyment out of this crushing defeat.
.
To Nathan Lyon, chin up mate. The headlines will go to S’oK, and rightly so, but jeez you bowled well. It seemed all the missed chances were on your watch and you still returned great figures. Hopefully, you got plenty of confidence out of this, and you can keep it tight and build the required pressure over the next three tests.
..
There is also an opportunity to remind everyone to enjoy the fact that for the first time in a long time, everything went our way. We now know what it must have been like for Stuart BroadRangana Herath and Vernon Philander. Something we haven’t felt for a long, long time.
.
We would like to finish with this: how good is Matt Renshaw? He looked more at ease than anyone while in the middle (apart from the obvious discomfort). He seems to have the technique to not only survive but thrive in the conditions and against quality bowling. Plays the ball firstly out of the hand, and then again off the wicket. Very impressive.
.
It will be interesting to see how the blogs, social media and commentary language change from here. We know we weren’t alone in bagging the Aussie’s when they left our shores. To be fair, I’m not sure they had earned anything more. We had all been waiting for a ballsy, trenches warfare type performance so we could truly believe again, and they delivered in the toughest conditions, under the extreme pressure. Well played lads.
Enjoy 20 beers, shake it off and start again. One more win lets us retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, throw in a draw as well and we will see the BCCI throw a tantrum for the ages… And, who doesn’t want to see that?
