Dushmantha Chameera is hot property at the moment and will be one to watch. The young quick can hit in excess of 140km/h consistently and sends it down from a height.
In the recently completed tour of the UK, he only got a shot in the first test before succumbing to a side strain. But, he looked pretty good. First innings figures of 3/64 including the vital breakthrough of Bairstow on 140, showed he could have made a dent in the English line up if given the full series.
It’s not unfair to say that Sri Lanka’s attack looks a little bit pedestrian without him. However, it’s probably a bit unfair to put the weight of the whole attack on his shoulders too. Either way, there is no doubt the hopes are high for his future. As we know, serious quicks are rare on the subcontinent. I can imagine that India would be jealous that some genuine pace has been discovered across the Palk Straight.
Prediction: I think he is going to make a few boys jump and will be the second highest wicket taker for the home team.
